Project Update: Marathon Oil Tower

Installation was recently completed on Marathon Oil Tower (5555 San Felipe), a 41-story landmark property and destination workplace in the heart of Houston, TX. Originally designed in 1983 as the headquarters to Marathon Oil Company, the renovated Class A office tower hosts 1.2 million square feet of office space located in Houston’s Uptown/Galleria area.  The comprehensive renovation of the LEED Gold Certified building has transformed it into one of the most innovative, eco-friendly and sustainable innovation hubs in the city of Houston- designed for an evolving and changing workforce.

The reinvented and enhanced 2-story lobby features expansive structural glass walls that breathe energy and natural light into the space. The design called for unimpeded views and abundant natural light in an effort to create an accommodating, exclusive and welcoming environment. Sentech’s scope included 9 insulated structural glass walls ranging in heights up to 30 feet, supported by sag rods and horizontal fins, along with embedded point fittings utilizing Sentech’s VetraPoint connection series coupled with Sentech’s VetraFin-H System. In total, the project features over 7,000 square feet of structural glass.
