Overview
This clear span structural glass façade is located at 333 South Grand Avenue in Los Angeles, CA. Also known as the Wells Fargo Center’s North Tower, this 54-story Class A building was designed by Skidmore, Owings + Merrill, and is now the site of their Los Angeles office complex. A LEED Gold-certified building, the lobby entrance façade was designed utilizing Sentech’s VetraSpan System– full height façade panels with no fins, no fittings, and no obstructions. The façade spans approximately 12-feet in height by 20-feet in width, totaling just over 1,700 square feet of structural glass. The glass panels were comprised of 1-1/16″ low-iron fully tempered laminated glass with an XIR 72-41 interlayer. This allowed for a structural glass façade and entrance solution that maximized light transmission and transparency, while simultaneously protecting the interior environment from intense solar energy and unnecessary heat gain.
