Summary: The core class focus is to provide an overview of design options and technology advancements applied to high-end retail and residential construction. Integrating the latest technology in glass fabrication with advancements in engineering, manufacturing, and installation techniques, we dive into the possibilities of using jumbo, curved, cast and patterned glass in high-end residential design applications that use structural glass as the primary design element. One of the key course objectives is to provide participants with tools that allow them to design facades and overhead glass structures that create seamless views of the outside and inside environments, that enhance natural lighting, and that drastically elevate the design aesthetic.

Summary: This course provides an overview of the latest in high-performance facade solutions using structural glass for both interior & exterior applications. We present the latest in architectural glass trends that utilize glass with a combination of materials, including wood, steel & aluminum. The solutions we will touch on not only take the concept of sustainability to a new level, but elevate aesthetic considerations and options that have only recently become available to the marketplace. The discussion will weave in recent developments in engineering, manufacturing & installation technology.

  • Develop a deeper understanding of structural glass system design for both interior & exterior applications
